I would like to purchase 1861 colt replica. I have quite a few Uberti revolvers and have been a happy shooter. I have heard that Pietta has tried to improve their clones. So question is, has anyone bought a new Pietta lately? If so,I would appreciate your feed back. Thanks in advance...Montanadan

Yo, MontanaDan -
I have a Pietta 1858 Remington Clone - not exactly what you're looking for, but a cousin. I'm very happy with it; it's machined well, shoots well, and hasn't given me any problem in the year I've had it. Most people here swear by Ubertis, and I don't know them well enough to compare, but the Pietta has been a good buddy.

MontanaDan,

I bought a brace of Pietta '51 Navies from Cabela's this spring and shot them in CAS matches all summer. They work great. I bought the "Wild Bill" models with the fake ivory grips and some extra engraving but otherwise standard production.
