This is one of the nicest examples I have ever seen. There is a good chance it was unissued and unfired before my wife inherited it. Her dad bought a crate of them with some buddies back in the 1970's. They cleaned them up and kept the best, selling the others to recoup their costs. He told me it was never fired while in his possession. I have fired about 50 rounds through it, and harvested a small doe this year.
I am not sure exactly what to ask on this, as they are listed on the net for $1800-$2500, and none of them are even close to this condition. I will start with $2000, but am honestly open to discussion if I am out of line (someone tell me quickly if I am too low!). I am also open to partial trade for a nice Buffalo Hunter or other .58 caliber rifle, but also need some cash. I have more pictures if needed. This is a great way to buy/trade into an authentic civil war weapon.
