For sale or trade. Just got this shot it shoots great then found a colt example I was looking for.
This is an example of the Model 1863 Type I. It bears a lock from the Alfred Jenks & Son contract that is dated “1864”. The lock reads “U.S. BRIDESBURG”. Proof marks are located on the left side of the barrel. The top of the butt plate is marked “U.S.”.
The overall condition is good. The iron parts have a gray patina. The markings are clear. The walnut stock is smooth and solid. The bore is in good condition. The action is excellent, strong and crisp. Rifling is very sharp and non pitted. Sends minie balls down range beautifully. Will offer a 3 day inspection for your time to look it over. Asking 1650 obo or trade for percussion or flintlock rifles civilian or milatary original or repro welcome

Skyhigh, yes, it's an original which I bought back from Wyoming Mountain Shooter. He bought the Colt musket he wanted and I bought the Bridesburg back. It's sitting in my office right now, a very nice conditioned musket, cowrustler
