To those who have been to this before: how big is the show (ie. how many halls)? Worth going to if you do reenacting? Compare it to Kalamazoo or CLA show!

I was there two years ago. Went because I was already in Carlisle and thought it would be a good place to spend some Christmas money. I found some nice stuff and could have spent a lot more money than I did.
I just looked up their page and they advertise 150 vendors so it is a decent size event.
If you are in the area, a side trip to Gettysburg is worth the drive.

one big room ,seems smaller due to being in one room but it has MORE venders than in lewisburg (several small, crowded rooms, hard to see or talk)

Its a very good event. I've gone the past several years (before and now after the move from Lewisburg) and there's a good number of vendors and it's easier to browse now than it was. There's plenty of accoutrements, a bit of apparel and some furniture, cabinets and art. You could probably outfit a persona from the event, but not sure about primitive camping and the like.

Are there usually guns for sale here? Specifically new/used flintlocks, not antiques?

Yes, guns both new and used -95% of them will be custom the other 5% will be original antique. In keeping with the theme there is very little factory or mass production stuff there.

I'll be there Saturday morning. Tall guy, grey T-shirt says "you can never have too many flintlocks" and a gulf war veteran baseball cap.

My wife and I are going to make the drive down for the first time. Any recommendations for restaurants in the area? We were hoping for a buffet, but are only finding oriental.

So we drove down saturday....about a four hour drive for us. We were glad the weather was good. I was mildly annoyed the huge Sportsman Show in Harrisburg started on 2-2, as we have always wanted to go..oh well.
I was surprised at how large the show was. Every one of course was friendly and chatty. Of course, this is a hobbyists happy place. It was a great chance to look at a lot of beautiful long rifles and associated crafts , accoutrements and art. We hadnt been to Carlisle before, and were surpised how nice of a down town they had...very old main street, nice surrounding neighborhoods with a lot of restaurants and shops. If we didnt have to get home to take care of the dogs, it would have been easy to spend an overnight and enjoyed the down town, if for no other reason a nice walk on a nice day.
Perhaps in the future we would try to combine it with an overnight and a day at the Harrisburg show.
Of course, the more money you have to spend at a show like this the more fun you have, but I was able to pick up a few nice project horns, a soft case and a few goodies for a good price.
