Today at an auction I ran across a 1955 Dixie catalog. It said on the cover
that it was their second. The photo on the cover is of Bull Ramsey, Turner
Kirkland, and A. O. Niedner. Niedner died in 1954 according to the caption.
Black powder was 1.50/pound, a 25 pound keg was 17.50. All the locks in
the catalog appeared to be salvaged originals. Barrels were imported from
overseas. In one case I recognized a line of text unchanged in 56 years.
The postage from Union City TN to Indiana was $.02. It was the size of a
tri-fold vacation folder.

Regards,
Pletch

Pletch, Is there any chance we could still order from that catalog? That would be great! Le Grand

That 55' catalog sound pretty cool !!! I have their 64' catalog that I saved from the recycling bin. Anyway, I snapped a few pictures for everyone.... Does anyone know if the guy on the top right of the cover is Jack Garner of TVM?

Garner lives only a few miles south of the Tennessee line in Corinth, MS. It looks like a very young Jack Garner to me and I know that he did make guns for DGW.
