1st model Dragoon

I just got a used 1st model dragoon. I am new to cap and ball and have a few question.

1. How much powder does this thing hold?
2. Can you use the Triple 7 fffg in this type of gun?
3. What is the ball size?
4. What caps do I use?

The gun came to me used and it is made by Ubreti. I call Uberti to get a ownes manual but, I could not get of hold of anyone. Any help would be great.

It should hold up to around 50-55 grs of 3f. I don't use Triple 7 so don't know. a .454 rd ball should work ok in it. Use #10 or #11 caps. If you have #11's try them first and see how they fit. You don't want them coming off the nipples so you may need to pinch thema little if they are too big.

Max load is about 55 gr fffg real bp.

Yes you can use 777, but reduce it 15% by volume (55 gr by volume fffg real bp means reduce the 777 load to 55-8= 47 gr fffg.

Start with .454 rb's but be prepared to go to .451 if the .454 loads too hard.

Probably takes #10 caps, but try #11's and see if they will stay on.
