Trigger done and definitely lighter….like by half !!! Down from 8-10 lbs to 5ish ! I can definitely live with that Abit more creep for sure but I’ll remedy that down the road.

Something definitely came up while applying the finish though….
I had always planned to lengthen down the apron or beavertail around the tang…but I simply forgot about it in my rush to start finishing
the stock

It ends rather high, originals seem to have extend much farther down….with a thumb rest dished out.

But looking now it’s creating a big humpback look to the grip I’m not happy about and obviously ends way up on the stock vs the above image.

I was playing with a grease pencil(visible in pics) to rough out where I’d like the apron to end up

I found these pics of a pair of them as well…..pretty close to your examples. Abit of variation amongst these makes it easier to reproduce the looks without being too precise

Got the new apron shape roughed in….obviously still needs to be sanded,smoothed out etc. but definitely looking abit closer to how it should be

Dear BC WILL I trust you saw the pistols ect I posted one being a Sea Service the stockings mine the lock & barrel where original ones not sure if lock is SS pattern but not going to swop it any way . The Dirks pics I sent seem to be well recieved

Been a slow go….getting lottsa snow up here already, so far too much time working and not playing
Finally got the wood where I’m happy with the shape….played with some dyes and bone blacked some areas.
3 coats of varnish (rubbed down with 0000 wool between coats)

Looks good to me and I’m happy with how it feels in hand !

Just doing final assembly and adding some stamp marks where I feel they belong….this one came without any proof marks on barrel so it’s a clean slate !
Seen a crown stamp inside triggerguard on some originals so I added one…

Still looking over original examples for shopkeeper marks etc.
Canada post is on strike so getting anything here right now is tough….got quite a few stamps on hand so I should be able to get her finished up in a few though.
