Here is a few pics of the powder horn strap i made. I got some cloth type material. Cut it down to the width i wanted. Attached a matching twine material to the edges to keep it from unraveling at the edges. Then attached it to the butt plug and neck of the horn by sewing (very crudely may i add) the strap together tightly around the horn.

Looks pretty good in my book. I found some old woven (women's) belts at the Thrift Store for $2 each. One is attractive and I'm going to use it for a strap.

Looks good. Hope it stays on.

I was worried about it coming off too, so i put a little epoxy mixture on the horn under where the strap goes around it to keep it secure. Thanks for making me divulge my secret.

Wanted to this originally, but couldn't find anything around here that i liked enough. I am going to keep looking though. This is my firs attempt at making a strap, and also my first horn and engraving it. Still need to add my name and maybe something on the other side.

Thanks for the comments!

This is made of a burlap "ribbon" Came in a spool from my local walmart....It was actually about 2-3 times as wide as my strap is, . I just cut mine down to the size i liked. Already came with the red design in it. I then took some mending liquid/gel that my wife uses to hem pants and attached twine to the edges to keep them from coming apart. Measured the length i wanted and sewed the edges together around the horn.

Why didn't I see that? I've made a couple of straps from that stuff too. It was too wide so I cut it into two strips of the right width and made the strap for a bag I also made. To keep mine from unraveling I used rubber cement on the edges and that seems to work. You did well.
