I have heard, repeatedly, that "certain" powders, require 20% more, by volume, to get the same results as commercial powder. No problem in a long gun, but what about cap-n-ball revolvers. Will revolver champers hold 20% more. I have not yet tried any, nor have I tested a chamber to see if a load 20% larger will leave room for a projectile (round balls are all I use). Thanks.

I myself haven't heard that but I do recall reading on a label of 777 that I do believe they say to reduce the charge 20% by volume for an equal amount of other muzzle loading propellants.

Is this possibly what you're referring to?

No but the same question would apply.

By "certain," are you referring to homemade? If so, sorry, we can't discuss that here.

Yeah, thanks a lot. I was avoiding using the h word. Glad you cleared it right up. Appreciate it.
I'm sure others on here make and use it.
