Anyone have an idea what a Jaeger rifle kit would have cost about 20 years ago? It's basicly the same one that Track sells now for around $700.00. I have the opportunite pick this up. It's not realy been worked on, some missing and broken parts (main spring, springs for set triggers and 2 forward pipes). I'm quessing $200.00, sound right?
Thanks.

If it's swamped it's probably a Getz, and worth around $200 just for the barrel alone. I'd buy the kit for $200 and throw the stock away and build one from scratch that at least looks like a jeager.

Thanks Mike... That's what I'm going to do. The stock is walnut with a repair plug that runs just behind the side plate side, thru the wrist and out near the trigger.
Take care,
Don

Oh, by the way, any idea what this kit might have cost 20 years ago? Thanks.

fair market value is defined as what a will buyer and a willing seller will exchange for a specific good(s) or service(s). (sorry about the grammer - the complete definition is in Black's Law Dictionary.

Anyway- plonk down the $200. don't be a cheapskate!

(insert tirade here)

good luck

I have TOW catalogue #9 which would be from the mid 80's.The price of the jaeger kit with a 31" Getz barrel is $430.78.Hope this helps. If it's a Getz barrel it should be marked on the bottom flat!!
Mitch
P.S.The price for the Getz barrel at the time was $130.00 .

Hmmmm... A walnut stock you say... Don't chuck it, some nutcase like me may have plans to fix up an old guy and could use it!
