Fort Frederick State Park, Big Pool, MD.
Info at the Friends of Fort Frederick state park website.

(IMHO this no copyright stuff stinks!)

Not Claude's fault but the originator should be ridden out of town on a rail after a damn good old fashioned tarring & feathering. :stir:

Sorry, missed the link to the site.

Sadly I will not be making any more announcements for this location.
Today's visit was unpleasant & embarrassing & I no longer feel any desire to enhance the revenues of the park.

My apologies to all the members here who may have found this enlightening, but I feel there are times where principal just has to take a stand. I hope you'll understand.

My wife and I were there on Sat. and even though it wasn't very big and only 2 sutlers it was very informing. The people encamped there were very willing to talk to us and invited us to join thier units. We talked with some for 30 minutes or more and got phone numbers and email form many more. I would like if it would have been bigger but it is summer time and familys have other thing that must come first. It was the begining of a new school year for many. Looking forward to the EPR, hoping it will be worth the drive.

It wasn't the group there. They were pleasant.
(We were there on Sunday so I probably missed you folks.) Not that you wouldn't have been pleasant.
It was an issue of honesty on the part of the park itself. Minor if you weren't involved, but obnoxious in manner if not execution.
Maryland has very few state parks that are dog friendly & Fort Frederick made a huge deal locally about how this was not them, then the policy seems to have changed as has the attitude.

Again it is more a policy thing & an integrity thing than the sum of it's parts would indicate.
