Never said that, I have seen and fixed a few of them that beat themselves into a paperweight. If you don't want to believe it that's fine go ahead and keep your head in the sand.

Trouble with that "gun tuners notion" is there are more than a few of us been shooting steel frame short arbor guns for years without end fitting and they're still going. I believe end fitting to improve them as I've done so to several of mine but they will give good service without it for many years. The majority short arbor guns out there will never be fixed and they'll keep right on working to most owners satisfaction.
I think Uberti has gotten around arbor end fitting by turning a taper on the arbor and boring/reaming a mating angle into the well on the Walker. I still need to plug gauge the well to verify but here are the measurements on the arbor,
arbor under cylinder .520
arbor at cylinder end .518
arbor end. .499

Nope, wrong again. Uberti's fix does not work no matter how hard you dig in your heels and refuse to believe it. You might get away with it for a while but in the long run it's gonna catch up. As many of these things that have come across my bench beaten half to death shows Uberti hasn't fixed anything. In the grand scheme of things most folks don't shoot their pistols enough to see the problems. Someone that's doing a lot of shooting or into competition will see the issues a whole lot sooner. I am curious as to why you are in such strong denial about the short arbor or even tuning the pistols. If your satisfied with how your stuff works more power to you. Those that aren't happy with the pistol out of the box can have them tuned and repaired and have something that not only runs great but will last a whole lot longer. Denial of the problems won't make it go away.
