The Haneys held their St. Patricks day shoot March 17. There were 11 shooters, I think I was sixth place. A very windy day, and I was helping a brand new ML shooter with one of my .54 Hawkens. He only dry-balled once, but came in tied for second and won a quart of Irish whiskey! Whiskey Mamma admiring my fur hat.
Kyne having a go at the shamrocks. I ain't gonna tell you what the surprise target is, wrapped up!
Skunk and Carney shooting. There are four left handed shooters in this bunch, all flintlocks. Carl pulling the cable to release the running leprechaun.
Skunk. There are always authentic outfits and firearms at our shoots.
My two .54 Hawkens close, a left handed flintlock at the left. I much prefer flintlocks, and am building a shorter and lighter .54 English Sporting rifle. It sure was good to get in out of that wind, to corned beef and cabbage and Irish whiskey and Guiness Draught.
