looking for the thread on that .22 cal flintlock long rifle last year. i`ve used the search functions, but my google fu and search abilities seem to be lacking recently. any help?

i still can`t find it, maybe i`m using the wrong key words or in the wrong spot.

thanks but no. it was a beautifully made long rifle. he was shooting BB tipped air gun pellets with it.

Look up Keb's posts I think he sold it to the person that you are looking for the post.

A buddy of mine got to his wallet last September at Friendship faster than I could, so he owns it instead of me. I can't find that I posted anything here about it as I look through "My Posts" and "My Topics". I can send pictures to someone who would be willing to post them here. It was a nice looking rifle, although sort of puny sized. It used a .22 LR barrel, was mounted on a full length stock, and used a very small flint lock.

I've had the itch to make one up, but haven't scratched that particular itch just yet (that's a polite way of calling myself a procrastinator).

it`s diminutive size is really why i`m interested. i`ve found a beautiful slab of curly maple that comes in at 1 15/16 thick , wasn`t cheap but there is enough for 3 smaller full length stocks, perfect for a .22. or a pile of small locked pistol stocks.
when i do a search on here, it comes up saying there is a problem.

found it. was a .20 cal made by j.r. salvo. thanks to all that did help.

Don't do that today though. Wait till tomorrow.

With that small a tube, I would think 4Fg might be the right stuff. Heck, your pan charge is likely to be greater than the MAIN charge! Definitely not a toy though. You could shoot your eye out with that thing.

with all the drawbacks that are pointed out about them wrt fouling and other things, I`m still very intrigued. I don`t know why either

If yer looking to buy one, a European contact might be able to help. At one time there were 'parlour guns' in .22 cal. They were used for indoor shooting games in pubs and such places. Our own Squire Robin doesn't show up here much lately but, I'm sure, he could point you to one.
BTW, I have a friend who once cobbled together a .22 ml rifle using a modern 22lr barrel and other parts. He loved using it for squirrel hunting.

They are fun...I made a flintlock pocket Pistol in
22 cal. and an underhammer target pistol in 22 cal.
I can shoot them in the shop using 3 gr of powder.

pics would still be warranted. don`t know about anyone else, but i love seeing your work
