"...that one really looks like a mule deer!..."

That thought flickered across my mind too...he was really a bigger framed deer than I normally see, with a huge head physically...big ole' squared off head and large snout. Also had that unique thick mat of brown hair on his forehead.

Shot an old doe several years ago that I swear looked like a cross between an actual farm mule and a whitetail...just a huge animal and at first glance you thought "mule" without hesitation...it simply looked 99% like a farm mule.

I've often wondered if and how much original genetics and DNA code are still buried deep within all living things and in spite of eons of evolution, every once in a while get triggered and some of those characteristics reemerge under certain circumstances...dunno

 I hope it is going on the wall?
Good looking deer! If not at least a good 8x10 on the wall with you and the muzzleloader.

Yeah, he'd have made a great mount...prettiest deer I've ever taken.
But although my bride of 38 years has never said "I couldn't", I know she is not a big fan of mounts in a house, so that's a concession I make because otherwise, she it totally supportive of my year round hunting and shooting activities...so instead, I got horns nailed up all over the garage (plus the photos)

No doubt in my mind. Just look at Zonie.

Trying to think of something nice to say but I'm just too jealous. :haha: Seriously thats a really nice buck, bigger than anything I've ever had a chance to shoot AT.

I know the feeling...I've been in the woods for 40 years and while I've picked up a few really nice 8 pointers over those years, I never got a 10...now here's 2 in 7 days...no complaints mind you, just still afraid to pinch myself
