.30 caliber percussion ladies rifle

Wanted to share with y'all some pictures of this little doll of a rifle I picked up a few months ago. I just got it reassembled after sending the tumbler off for some rather in depth welding repair.

Golcher stirrup type lock.
Dual set to cock triggers.
Bore measures .302"
The bore and square bottom riflings are immaculate.
I'm guessing it was for an Addison? Ady is engraved into the top flat.
Beech sights
5lbs 4oz
35" barrel that measures .700 at the breech, .690 at the end cap, and .705 at the muzzle. I cannot begin to explain how petite this rifle is in the hands.

I haven't shot it yet, but I have everything ready to try it out. Going to use some .283 ball with various patching material soaked in mink oil. Going to start out with 10g of 3f to see how she acts!

The wood next to the lock has a solid period repair, and at the tang there is a very classy repair of wood erosion by the nipple.

After polishing it a little with my thumb and some dry cotton patches, I would say that there wasn’t anything ever inscribed. Just a piece of silver inlay.

Could you please post the twist of the rifling in that rascal?

It’s a 1/4 turn for every 14 inches, so I’d say it’s 1:56 twist.

It's definitely a possibility.

Could it also have been polished to a mirror sheen so little Miss Ady could check her hair and make sure she didn't have burnt powder smudged on her face?

Beautiful rifle! I just bought a rear action Josh Golcher locked rifle at auction. Amazing how his locks found their way into rifles throughout the U.S..
