I think that you did a great job with that gun. It looks the way I had started out to make mine, like a genuine po old farmer's from North Carolina way gun. I varied and got the maple, instead.

Nice gun.

Shot it again today. Was pretty happy with the 5 shot group. There are 6 shots total on this target.

Also shot against dad at 100 yards off hand at 14” saw blades. Still used 15 grains of 3F. Ball dropped a little over a foot. Was able to make 4 out of 5 off hand hits.

nice rifle gun ya done there, but darken the ram rod it stands out like a light bulb.
Yep, I’m with you on that. I took some bone black and mixed with an oil finish. It is quite a bit darker now, but still pretty light. As I use it it will pick up plenty of darkness. I’ll have to look at it again when I get home tonight.
