Is a .32 caliber enough for turkeys? They say 22 magnums make great turkey rifles. Maybe someone with experience can help!

I've killed a bunch of gobblers with a regular .22 rimfire. Just shoot them in the wingbutt..where the wing goes into the body and they won't go 5' from where they are shot.
I use to use my .22 in Ga. before they outlawed it for turkeys and would call them in to shootgun range during spring gobbler season. .32cal. would be fine if used like I did the .22.

My greatgrand father used .28 cal BP cap rifle on everything that was hunted in west virginia in the 19th century.Yes,he built the gun himself. The rifle is still in the family. :) Shot placement is everthing.

The ballistics for a 22 mag and a 32 muzzleloader are almost the same. Both have a 40 gr bullet at around 2000 fps at the muzzle. Actually the 32 will be better than the 22 and the 22 does really fine on turkeys as does the 32. I have used both over the years and prefer the 32. Hope that helps.
