Who all is planning to attend this year?

I'm glad to hear this event is taking place this year in Tenino. I'd like to compete but am not experienced enough yet!! It's fun to watch and listen to though!

That is exactly the same attitude I had when I first started in blackpowder. I suggest you don't repeat my mistake and instead jump right in. The best way to get more experience is go ahead and grab it with both hands. You will be surprised how much more fun it is to shoot in a meet like this than it is to watch others shoot. So bring your rifle and your shootin' bag and get out on the line this weekend. I guarantee you will not regret it. If you don't have a rifle, let me know and I will bring one you can borrow.

Look me up at the shoot if you have a mind to. I am the short legged fellow in a black hat and a red armband.

Here are directions to the shoot for anyone coming from outside the local area.

The shoot is very easy to find. Come on I-5 to Exit 88. Head east at the top of the off ramp. Follow that road all the way into Tenino. When you arrive in beautiful downtown Tenino, take a right on Olympia Street and head south. Olympia Street ends at the ball fields at Tenino City Park. The registration tent will be right there by the back stop at the ball field closest to the end of Olympia Street. You might have to find a place to park a block or two away.

Make sure you get there in plenty of time to register and attend the shooter's meeting at 8:45, because we will begin the shoot at 9:00 sharp. There is camping available at Tenino City Park for $10 for the weekend if you are interested. And don't forget the potluck and pig roast on Saturday evening.

The forecast is for pretty hot weather this weekend so dress accordingly.
