So I have a .36 cal caplock rifle. Trying to work up a accurate load for target and hunting. Should I start out as recommended in Ned Roberts book? Any advice would be appreciated. Too bad you can't get bear or sperm oil for lubing and cleaning like Ned did.

with small caliber guns I normally start at 15 grains and work up to 30 in five grain increments. what is the twist rate? once you establish a powder charge that works try a different patch thickness or lube. only change one thing at a time and keep good notes on your targets. what is the twist rate?
