I got some .36 cal maxi balls for my cva squiral rifle. Any one know how many grains they are? And has anybody shot any of them? Going to go try them today.

Why not contact Track of the wolf and ask them if that's where you got it?

Or you could weigh them yourself.....

If you don't own a precision scale , I highly recommend getting one....they are very useful....I have 5 alone....

If I were to guess I would say about 128 grains....

Called track of the wolf they said they are around 126-130 grains

Bud of mine came up with a couple of boxes of those. After shooting them all up, he went on a serious hunt for a mold. They worked out really well. He's a dedicated fox hunter and the mini's greatly extended his range compared to round ball. Foxes aren't hard to kill, but you have to hit them first.

Don't recall his powder charge, but as with so many other rifles and calibers, best accuracy occurred when he put a lubed felt wad between the bullet base and the powder.

My gun loves them!I shot them with 30 grains of FFFg and lubed with a mix of buffalo tallow and bees wax. There very accurate! Think they will be good on small game

A bazillion years ago (1982 +/-) I used those on woodchucks from my .36 cal T/C Seneca. My hunting buddy (it was his father-in-law's farm) made an agreement we wouldn't shoot closer that 100 yards with our muzzleloaders. He had a T/C Hawken.

Everyone needs a cheap drug scale for weighing miscellaneous stuff.

I think I payed less than $10 shipped free for mine off fleabay, I put it to use weighing all my loose wood arrow shafts yesterday.
