I picked up this little rifle awhile back. Don't know who built it but they used good stuff . It is a good piece of wood, a 42" douglas barrel, Siler lock, and shoots great. Notice in the picture they put a pattern on the stock in several places like they wanted to carve it but did not do it, also the barrel is not swamped but they carved the stock to look like it is, it has funny little rails carved into it. Does anyone have any idea what style this is, is it an Early Virginia or a Lancaster or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Not sure of the style..but it would have looked really nice if they did the carving that they had drawn on the wood.

I do not know why I cannot get pictures to download into post but at least you have the link there to go look at the gun.

Thanks,

Yes, I wish they would have too!! It would have looked really good. If I knew how I would finish it myself.

If you hold your cursor over an image in the album that you showed, 4 different tags will show up. The one that works is the 4th one (IMG). Just copy the code and paste it here and all is good. You copy what is in the tan box to get the code I am talking about. Here is an example of the text :

I edited it so that it would show the code format - I put a space after the . At a glance it looks the same though, so you can see which one you need. Here is the pic that a corrected version of the text above produces:

PorkChop beat me to it, but glad to see you have it down now. It is really simple once you get your pictures on PhotoBucket or other host site.

Happy to help! There isn't much I can contribute, so when I find a nugget that I can help with, I like to do so.
