This is a pretty respectable example of a Mowrey Rifle in .36. It is not stamped OLNEY, so I assume this is an Indiana gun. The 28" barrel has a great bore with a very slow twist. In multiple tests my rod flag made 1/4 turn in 28". Bluing has some high edge wear and there is some heavier finish loss around nipple area. The Maple stock has some nice figure. Seems there had had been a lacquer or varnish coating that shows loss on buttstock. No major scratches or other defects. LOP is 14". The brass receiver and fittings have turned a nice mustard color. Action functions as it should. Weighs about 7.5 lbs. $450 + Shipping.
