For sale is this newly built Kibler Southern Mountain Long Rifle. Asking price is reduced to $1500. (final reduction) . I will split shipping cost. (Lower 48 only).
Included are a Range Rod with ball puller and cleaning jag (8/32) as well as about eighty-five .395 Horandy round balls.
The stock is really beautifully figured Northern Cherry, which I embellished with some incised carving behind the cheek piece, as well as inlaying a steel Hunter's Star and toe plate. I also added a steel Rupp style steel patch box (Slap closed type, no locking/release mechanism). Although this style of rifle historically did not utilize this PA style patch box, I loved the look of it on this Longrifle and think it really adds a beautiful uniqueness to the piece.
I fired flintlock today for the first time and am very surprised with the speed of the lock. I was shooting off-hand at 27 yards and did pretty good without even sighting it in.
Attached are some photos and a quick video showing the first shot of the rifle. It was born here in the Blue Ridge Mountains and carries that spirit inside her I think.
I will be happy to share other photos upon request.
Thanks for looking,
Bob Gerard
