One thing I learned ago, not all will agree on anything, ballistics, my brother can beat up your brother, my gun is better than yours and I have hunted in more places than you. All the above is not worth our time to discuss.
I think there are better guns than a 40 cal to deer hunt with. If I leased my land for hunting, there would be numerous restrictions, a 40 is not within the discussion.
After hunting significantly, a person does learn a couple of things.
I continue to learn as I become older.
I learn a lot from reading here and I really do value the insight given into muzzleloading hunting.
