Hello all, I have a CVA Colt 1860 Army 44 revolver in great shape. Looking to trade for something muzzleloader related. Please let me know what you have. I am hoping my revolver is worth a trade.

It looks like you only gave me from 5:48 till 5:59 before you said I didn’t get you a response 😂

And to be fair…. I am not glued to my phone or email lol…

I did get your message and replied with pictures

And I was on here earlier to send you a message and post on this thread:ghostly:

All good though!

Crazybear, it having a brass frame it will usually go for less than a steel frame. I’ve purchased a steel framed Dragoon CVA, Armi San Marco on GunBroker for less than $400 if that helps? Generally speaking, the brass frame would most likely go for at least $75 less. You never know though. GunBroker BP guns are going pretty high than say just purchasing a new revolver on Midway? Just a thought. Hope that helps. I realize that yours is an 1860 and not a Dragoon. Dragoons if bought new usually cost more than a new 1860 new.

Lot of the brass frame "fantasy" Colts out there and yours is somewhat odd in that it looks like it has the 1851 Navy grips but an 1860 barrel. You haven't said how old it is (look on the gun, somewhere there should be a square box with two letters in it, that's the date code) ASM has been out of business for some time and parts are hard to find - I had one from the late 60s and the thread pitch on the nipples were different then and new ones were now impossible to get. $150 tops.

Probably a kit or a defarb.
I don't know who'd go through the effort to defarb something like this but you never know - in any case the CVA would be the first thing I took off. I went back and looked at the picture in the other post - SN was 2594 - pretty low and the barrel is not marked with the number and there are apparently no proof marks. Mismatched bbl/grip frame, no markings says "kit" or something someone cobbled together.

I was looking to trade for it but looking at it the grip is the shorter navy grip and I was wanting the longer 1860 grip. Thanks anyway Crazybear!

To me it looks like a kit gun. Since the grips are oversized and the barrel is raw steel.

The square box would look like this. It might be in brackets too “[xx]”
