quick question, i have an old pennLR from what i read looks like FFFG is the recommended powder to use. any issue with using FFG triple 7.

thanks

Double F was what Thompson Center recommended when I got my .45 cal. Hawken back in the mid-70's.

Both the 40 and 45 I use 3f schuetzen 40 grainsa for targets and small game, 70 grains for yotes and deer.

Around 60 grains of 3F has always given fine accuracy in all my .45s. In my flint LL .45 I settled on 70 grains of 3F for the field.

Hey 82 I have a pedersoli frontier rifle that likes ffg 777. It likes 20 gr. for squirrels and 60 gr. for every thing else. It will shoot into one hole at twenty five yards. Good shooting and God bless.

In my TC Hawken 45 caliber rifle, my load is: 70 grains of Triple Seven 2F, with patched round ball. I use CCI #11 mag caps for hunting, but the regular ones work fine too.
