I know it’s a long shot but I’d really prefer to sell this face to face here in central Massachusetts than deal with shipping it
** for sale**
A truly beautiful .45 lefty flintlock rifle with what I think is a deep curly cherry full stock. The inlays are beautifully done with no visible gaps Accented all in brass.
Set triggers work as they should
LOP is 14-1/4in
Barrel is a york 7 groove
13/16 .45 41 3/4in long
Lock is an L&R John bales left handed that throws a nice spark
Drift adjustable sights
Rifle is 4ft 11 in OAL
The wood on the stock looks unblemished.
Slight wear on the hammers finish. See pics.
$1,250

FYI, I just shipped 2 within the last month, one of a 54" barrel and both were insured for $2,000. One cost about $70 and then $78 for the longer one, for 2-day USPS priority shipping and insurance. One box was a wooden shipping box, the longer was cardboard box and wood. Both packages weighed about 20-pounds each as shipped.

I have taken pictures of how I pack them, where I make laminated cardboard or ethafoam 'bulkheads' in the cardboard box that the longrifle sticks through. I'll also glue a piece of wood strapping inside the box, on 2 adjacent sides for longitudinal strength. The bulkheads are cut to fit around the wood. Make SURE to sratp or seal using fiberglass tape! Also write the shipping address directly onto the box and not onto a label that could get torn off.

...your mileage may vary ... but I've had zero issues and have shipped 20 to 30 like this ...

Can you measure the drop at comb and hell for me? What does it weigh? I am interested and not too far away....

If I had to guess the weight maybe 7-8 lbs? Total guess! Sorry, no scale
I don’t have a bore light but from what I can see with a flashlight & feel with a shotgun mop the bore has no issues.
I have not fired this rifle myself. I acquired it in a trade but I prefer percussion to flint.

Nicely done!!
You’re much more motivated than I am.

That is a REALY nice rifle. Should be gone in a few hours!

I just shipped two, a GPR taken down, cost 42bux with everything including adult signature (which I was unaware of)! An 1853 Enfield one piece stalk shipped in 6' cardboard box with 2x4 stapled to bottom and bubble wrapped to hades and back. about 48 bux with insurance and adult signature.

You will never collect on insurance with the PO. Unless you have the original receipt! And I'm a retired mailman!
