I bought a few old leather shot flasks, making sure the brass charger was intact, from ebay.

Then I had my brother, a craft shop boss in TDCJ, have me a few replacement leather flasks made. I now have 2 new leather shot flasks, with #8 & #6 shot. I carry them just as VM Starr said, and never have a problem.

I use a small about 1 lb. pouch with a strap and English style head for shot #6 or larger (use # 5 mostly really pattern well in my orginal SxS) But when using #7 1/2 switch to a pouch with an Irish style head that is adjustable from 1oz, 1 1/8, 1 1/4. Smaller shot falls thru English head when carried. I also use a double shot snake that is larger and load it with 2 different sizes of shot to switch loads in the field.

Every man to his own but to carry shot in a horn is for me is a no no why because they are far to noisy when walking up it is the same has having a yappy dog with game rising well out of range Personally I prefer a English powder and shot flask by Dixon or Hawksley ,the powder flask to throw 2 drm to 3 drms of powder to a shot flask 1 oz to 3 oz of shot for a 11 bore and smaller

I make pre-measured cartridges from brown paper sacks. Both ends are tied off with string. A quick tear/slice of the knife is all I need to pour it down the chute.

For powder, I’ve almost exclusively switched to carrying prescription medication bottles, along with my powder measure. Really lightens the load and creates less bulk

When hunting with other primitive shooters, Irish head adjustable charger and pouch. Capper or primer flask or horn. When semi - modern blue two compartment for pre measured shot and powder. Wads of different thickness in right and left hunting vest pickets. Pheasant opens up this coming Sat. In Colorado. Balloons over muzzle during rain or snow.
