Not sure if this is the forum for this statement/question. But here is the statement. I purchased a Andesa Spain 50 cal hawken replica from an individual. Was a kit gun some long time back. Did a nice job on the kit, except one issue. And I was told about this at purchase time. He is an older fellow and he said it was put together by a nephew of his. He( the nephew) drilled 2 of the 3 holes for the barrel rib assembly just a bit too long. The holes do not go thru into the barrel. I looked into the barrel as best I could with a light. Could not see any bumps inside the barrel. The barrel has been well taken care of and I was told it shoots just fine. You can definitely feel the 2 bumps when you run a ramrod down the barrel with a patch.

So I will shoot it to see if it in fact shoots ok. I will try to round up somebody to bore examine it for me also. So was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on this? Anybody had the same issue or heard about the same? There is a lot unknown of course. Must be somewhat thin where the bumps are at to push them into the barrel. Drill bits were off the shelf bits evidently and not machine end mill bits. Doesn't appear to tear up a patch at all.

Anyway, thanks in advance for input

Maybe, whoever drilled the holes almost punched all the way through and created a couple of bumps on the inside of the barrel and that's what you feel.
A bore scope would be able to tell you for sure.
