I just bought my first flintlock pistol. It is a pedersoli .50 flinter. I didn't get a book with it, although it is new. I picked it up at Ft Fredrick, md market day. I just have no data and would like to know what are starter loads and such. Thanks, Swamprat, in Somerset County Glades.

I have one and shoot 30 to 40 grains of Goex 3f in it. I found mine has a very fast lock on it, but you must wipe the lock and flint every few shots to get it to fire every time.

65-80 grains 777 and a 350gr Minnieball... :shocked2:

Oh wait, thats in my 12" Traditions Buckhunter... and I'm getting a .73 pistol soon... :youcrazy:

Sounds like a fun pistol. 25-35gr/PRB would be about right
