I have acquired a Sears and Roebuck & Co Rifle that is 50 Cal, It has about a 1 in 60 twist.
This Rifle that says "Make in Japan Miroku 2760" on one side of the barrel and "Hawkin Rifle Model 292.51778" and under that is "50 Cal Black Powder only"
After I cleaned up the wood and correctly inlet some brass fittings and butt cap it has turned out to be beautiful and had unusual wood grain.
I took it to the range today. To my surprise the sights were still right on target. The first three shots from the rest were toughing right above a 6 o'clock hold. Needed to adjust the set trigger because the next to shots went before I was ready. Two more shots right in there. Time to see what I can do off hand. Three easter peeps on bamboo skewers at 25 yards. Six shots later the easter Peeps and gone. I am impressed with the way this rifle shoots.
Now for the question. How old is this rifle? What do you know about Miroku rifle barrels? The lock and trigger seem to function very well but I do not know anything about them. Need your help.
