Actually, this is probably best described as a 'precision instrument'...I'm still amazed at what it will do. My load is 78grs. of FFG, a .015 ticking patch lubed with 1000+, and a .490 ball from a Lee mold. The pouch is one I made several years ago, and I just recently adopted it for use with this particular rifle. The horn was a gift from a friend. He made it for himself 30 plus years ago, and gave it to me on the day that I bought the rifle at Friendship. I just recently did the strap, which is made of linen, backed with pillow ticking, and sewn with linen thread.

What goes in the little pocket on the strap by the top of the pouch? I can't quite make it out.

Thank you all! Trent, that little pouch contains a small pan primer. I use FFFFG in the pan, and FFG down the barrel. In my smoothbore (on another thread), I use FFFG, and since I use that in the bore AND the pan, I do all from one horn.

I've actually used FFG in the pan before (in my Brown Bess), and it works just fine, but for this one, I wanted to go with FFFFG.

That's a really cool looking horn you got there...and the gun looks nice too!
