WANTED .50 Hatfield Flintlock

Title says it. Looking for a .50 Hatfield flintlock to match my .50 Hatfield percussion. Will consider a different caliber

You could buy a lock from L&R and a flash hole and convert yours. That's what I did!

.50 is the most popular caliber so you should have little trouble finding one. Just sit tight. It is true more percussion rifles turn up than flintlocks. There are variations out there. I collect Hatfields, .50 we have a Brass Flintlock, Brass Percussion, Iron Flintlock and a Brass Missouri River Rifle Works Hatfield which is very different from the Hatfield Rifle Works version.

I’ve been watching off and on for about 2 years. I always seem to miss them by about a day. Since you’re a collector, do you have any documents, articles, reading material, etc. about the brand in general? I’ve been fascinated with Hatfields but Google doesn’t like to turn up many results.

I was looking to see what the going price is for my Hatfield and it led me to this forum .I saw after I signed up that you can't post anything for sale for 10 days.I sent pictures of my gun to Kd2.I never sold a gun like this and wouldn't want to do anything wrong . I'm in PA and would rather sell locally then ship .I purchased in early 1989 .Probably going to put up for sale at Dixon Muzzleloading Shop in Kempton PA .I'm nervous about receiving funds and shipping etc.

This is a nice example of the last run of Hatfields built by Hatfield Rifle Works. I’d price it at $800.00-$1000.00 without being able to handle it.

Thanks for the reply .I did like shooting it it has less than 50 rounds through it.My friend that got me into Muzzleloading moved years ago and I got into archery hunting way back .Every time I open my safe I'm torn wether to just keep and start shooting again when I retire which will probably never happen or let someone else use and enjoy.I've sold to many other guns that I kick myself for selling seeing what there worth now .I'm in PA so there is a big Flintlock base and Flintlock late season here.I need to decide what to do .If the price is right I will sell.I think an auction may be the way to g but on a muzzle loading specific auction place I'll start doing some research on that.Thanks again.

I have 13 Hatfield Rifles or derivatives there of Including custom pre-production, early American made production, Pedersoli component rifles, custom shop "Iron Rifles", Missouri River Rifle Works (all American made components) and Wilderness Rifle Works which were assembled from the left over MMRW inventory and do not carry the Hatfield name. No two in my collection are the same. I also have a lot of literature.

When I bought this new it was in a Styrofoam box and no paperwork or instructions .I went by the Lyman book and 2 other books this was before the internet.Would of been nice to had forums to turn to for info .
