This in my newly finished .54 caliber Kibler build- an American Black Walnut stocked Kibler Colonial Longrifle.
I am asking $1,950. + partial shipping ($30 east of and $60 west of the Mississippi). Ships in the Kibler crate, fully insured USPS.
I have added some nice elements to the gun, such as carving around the lock panels, around the barrel tang and ramrod rear entry pipe, the base of the comb, the cheek piece (which also has an inlaid brass Hunter Star), some incise carving behind it and a groove along the base of the buttstock.
I also added a really nifty brass toe plate and a patchbox that has a snap-shut cam and spring. Shuts nice and tight and with a good lift it spring to flick open.
I also 'aged' the barrel using cold browning which I allowed to build up and then carded off to give a lovely steel-gray color with age-accents.
The stock was given a Boiled Linseed Oil application to pop the rich color and grain, and afterwards it received several applications of wipe-on varnish.
The rifle weighs just under nine pounds.
The specs of this gun :
· Stock has a pull of about 13 5/8” and a drop of approximately 2 3/4” and cast off of approximately 3/16"
· Buttplate is approximately 2” in width and slightly over 5” in height.
· Brass mounted
· 43.25” custom profiled barrels. Breech 1.125” and waist approximately .800”. A very nice contoured barrel. It comes standard in square bottom rifling. Twist rate is 1:70 and is a Green Mountain.
· Kibler's CNC Round Faced English Flintlock
I am attaching a bunch of pictures but more can be provided upon request & can do Face-time on iPhone as well.
This is a really handsome gun and will be a class-act shooter. The contrasting steel, brass and Black Walnut are eye-catching! I would love to keep it, but you know how that goes...
