Just bought a T/C 56 smooth bore, what size balls do I feed her? Will she shoot shot? mould makers? any info on this gun as it is my first smoothy. Thanks in advance.

When I had one, I used 70grns Goex 3F, .015" patch, and .550 Warren balls...required a very hard rap on the starter to get it in there but the accuracy was surpringly very good at 50yds.

If I was going to do it again I'd try .535's and .020"-.022" patches just for easier loading.

Yes, I had one and it was my 1st muzzleloader. I used that EXACT load and it would print 1-ragged-hole groups at 50-yards from the bench. I did have a vernier tang sight added to the wrist so it was shot with a peep sight arrangement.

Shouldn't have sold it  ...

I use a .530 ball with a .020 pillow ticking patch and 90 grains of 2f. My barrel measures a little on the small side, so you may be better off with a .535 ball. As for shot, I use 1 1/8 oz. of #5 shot and 70 grains of 2f. I use two 1/8 felt wads over the powder and 1 card wad over the shot. This shot load recipe is good to about 25 yards. Hope this helps
