I have inherited an Ideal .570 dia RB mold . What would this be used for?

All new to me.. My ML is a 54 cal Lyman . Since I have no use for it, I 'll have to get posted for sale.

.32 .36 .40 .45 .50 .54 .58 .62 and .72 are all fairly common muzzleloader rifle and fowler calibers today. .62 and .72 are mainly smoothbore fowlers and muskets, but there were some rifled guns in those large calibers, too. .58 was the standard military rifled musket caliber during the American Civil War.
The .32 .36 and .40 calibers are mostly considered "squirrel rifles", although the .40 is often considered quite accurate and is often used in target shooting. In a few states the .40 is legal for deer. Ol' Davy Crockett shot a lot of black bears out of trees with his .40 "Old Betsey".
The .45 is an in-between round that can be used on small game like squirrels, but also is popular for whitetail deer here in the East.
The .50 and .54 are good for larger game such as deer, black bear, and elk.
If I had to confront a grizzly bear, or take down a moose I would want a .58 or larger.
There were other calibers, too, although not so common.

Many civil war musket shooters find patched rb more accurate than shooting minies.
I have a Colt sp. contract replica 1861 and it shoots rb a lot better than minies. I use a .570 rb with a .015 patch. I use the same in my Challanger under hammer.
