Really appreciate the warm welcome fellas. I think my kit may ship late this week. Kibler, 54 cal, fancy maple, CNC engraving.
I think i want to age my brass and brown my barrel where it looks like I been running around with it in the woods in a misty rain for 3 months. Perhaps a slight rust color. Most of the finished stocks I see are brown and in some spots kind of dark. On the Kibler web site it looks like their reddish color isn’t the results people are getting but I like the reddish color. Can anyone recommend a good starting load? I have Hornsby .530 round balls, Swiss 3F and 4F for the pan, .018 dry patch. I think around 70 gr as a fellow enthusiast has the same rifle. Any advice in all areas is appreciated. I am definitely a new BP shooter outside some brined hunting with a CVA 25 years ago.
