I found the original stain on my CVA St. Louis Hawken to be easy to strip and redo with an original 1840 iron nitrate recipe... and that was w/ the finish-stripping products of 1987.

Yeah, I don’t imagine it would be too hard to refinish. Just a little bit of elbow grease and time.

No worries I've got two virgin moutain stocks from the 80's never ever touched or drilled.
