Your an inspiration, nice job! Would you include some information on what changes were made to the sights and picture if you have one. I see nothing on the barrel. 82 yds that's really nice
Rusty

If you look real close by the lock hammer you will see a peep sight, don't know about the front sight as the picture doesn't show the front end of barrel. I also use a brass range rod with a screw on T-handle and it will allow one to seat a tight ball and patch combo very smoothly after being short started.

Have a new/used Renegade stock and hardware on the way from e-pay....looking to chop off some serious wood...did you use a wood rasp and rat-tail file to do this? :v

.............................................................

Rusty I removed factory rear sight and pluged the holes
drilled the tang for my homemade rear peep sight.

SEE my topic.....brass tang mounted peep (Topic#275469)

Here's how...bring your cursour over my name and click on user options (Topics)
scroll down till you find.."Brass tang mounted peep"
Just a simple 2 dollar sight.....done.
I age them to blend in...They do not get in the way and they just work.

I have since changed to a lower sight than what is pictured above.
PT me with any ???? Have learned how to play nice in Claude's sandbox...I Share!

****************************************************************

My short starter has a brass rod with a stiff plam flat.

remember my front sight is only tall enough to just!!!! keep above the heat mirage of the barrel. .My goal is to keep rear sight as low as possible..which means a low comb line.

Rat tail files 1/4" 1/2" 3/4 course.
course flat rasps...lots of elbow grease..the H/C P/C type..

The only issue with the Renegade stock is the wrist height.....Web between ram rod hole and barrel channel.....just to much of it!

Take your time and enjoy it!...
Oh and the Jim Chambers traditional finish passed the test so I'll have some more work todo on my other rifles.
Oh Darn!
