Looks like George Gill; App to Samuel Blanckly, turned over to William Bailes, 1742.

He had very good teachers!
That grotesque mask was in use from at least 1740 into the 1780's.
It was also used by William Bailes, (not surprising), Benjamin Griffin, and later by John Twigg, amongst others.
A Very nice pistol!...Lovely condition too!

Beautiful pistol, rifled or smoothbore? Lock function, half cock and full? Very nice, could this be a shooter?

I am not sure but this pistol appears to be parts from an EJ Blackley set from England it is historically correct and could be a Muzzleloader loaded as a muzzleloader I do not think this is an original but as a modern reproduction of extremely high quality
This pisroj is smooth bore and is fully functional

Why Bump ?. It's probably worth that even if it was new thats no five minet job whoever did it . Did a good job for some such a piece its not out of the way .Some grease monkey in garage would charge like a wounded Buffallo
for nothing remotely as skilled .
. Regards Rudyard
