I do wonder if a minie could be improved in smoothbore by adding a flight of some description!

Many years ago Brenik? sp made a slug with a large felt wad screwed to the back, I believe it was to make sure it stayed pointed in the right direction. I've seen similar slugs for sale recently on line somewhere with a plastic wad attached. All my 12G guns are choked so I don't think I'll buy any to try.

Brenneke slugs have the felt wad bottom. Think that they had a slug that had a wasp shaped middle with the idea that it was self stabilizing if went askew. Problem was that it would break at the middle if it encountered any type of choke.

You’re essentially trying to get the unsuccessful ACW era Nessler ball to work. Didn’t work then, still won’t work today.

If it was me I would try paper patching those minies and see how they shoot :dunno:. If it performs poorly then buy that mold and use that.;)
