Put it together from parts i bought off ebay and deer creek products. I replaced the 28" barrel with a 32" 1:66 twist barrel from deer creek. Two coats of birchwood casey walnut and 18 coats truoil, buffed down with oiled 0000 steel wool. I also did a worn bluing job on the barrel with Perma blue and again, oiled steel wool to knock it back down a good deal for that worn touch.

Tonight I went and used brass black on all the brass parts as well. Will have to take pics of that update tomorrow in good light. It added a huge difference to the look of the gun. I hate brass to begin with so this was a nice way to cover it.

I also bedded the tang with accraglass to make sure it stays solid and doesnt wiggle around any.

Currently have a brass bead front sight on it, going to add a Williams peep sight next.

You have a great Rifle there I have a 54cal but it has only the 28" barrel, you will love this gun when you start hunting with it.

I can't say exactly what it is made of ,but Brownells sells it made by Birchwood Casey, there is other sellers too.

Blacked out the brass and here's how she looks now. MUCH better IMO!
Heres some pics with the brass all blacked out.

Wow!! Very nice Kentucky Windage
I really like the blackened brass look. I just might consider doing that to my TC Hawken.
And now, looking at your CVA 58 makes want to have another serious look at a CVA Mountain rifle that I saw for sale.....darn it

well here she is all blacked out. Now the question .570 or 562" ball mold? I kind of like the idea of a smaller ball " only a few grains difference" and a thicker patch.
