I am having a hard time finding this mold.

Anybody got one ?

I am found a nice full length Hawkin in .60.

I don't really don't want to pay $125+ for a custom mold.

Thanks

I believe Jeff Tanner moulds would suit you, they are brass and can be made to your specs much less than 125.00 I think they fit lee and lyman handles. They are made in England. I have a lee mould in 60 cal I have yet to cast any balls for my green mountain IBS barrel in 62 cal but they say it is a 61 actually I bought some cast round balls in 60 cal and they were tight with a thin patch I hope the lee mould will throw a good size ball for the barrel. you can measure your bore and know for sure what you need. I saw in your post you said 60 cal if you indeed have a 60 cal would a .575 mould do? A lot of people who shoot tc 56 cal smoothbores use 535 rb with excellent results? just a thought.

Measure your land to land difference and subtract one thickness of patch. Patching compresses so you want the thickness of the patch to fill the rifling and the patch to compress half its thickness between the lands and the ball.

If you can measure your depth of rifling. If you slug the barrel you can measure both the land to land measurement and the depth of rifling. To slug the barrel you drive an oversized soft lead slug down the barrel and remove it. This is best done with the breech plug removed or you blow the slug out with compressed air into a large cardboard collection box loosely filled with shredded newspaper or straw. If you blow the slug out, don't seat the slug at the breech. Your patch should be slightly thicker than the depth of rifling.

contact centermark the guy who owns it sells lee molds in 595, a friend mine bought one from him at the Kalamazoo show a couple years back

I have a 60 cal hawken and use a .590 ball with a .020 patch. Loads relativly easily with good accuracy. In any case the mold came from Jeff Tanner. Very easy guy to do business with and the molds are inexpensive.
