.590 availability

I have a 20ga caywood english fowler and I have been shooting a .595 ball. I would like to try a .590 but cannot find a cast ball this size anywhere. Anybody know where I can find some? I am also thinking of getting a Rapine bag mould and I know he makes both sizes. Thanks for any help.

You have the same problem as anyone shoooting a .60 caliber rifle. To my knowledge there is no manufacturer of round balls that sells .590 balls except a guy at Friendship who molds balls for sale. I don't remember his name, but maybe someone on the list will. Your best bet is to purchase a .590 mold and make your own. Cheaper too.

Thanks. You know I bought myself a christmas gift today a rapine bag mould in .590. I hope that I did the right thing. What I mean is should have I got the modern mould?

I have had a Rapine bag mould in .590 for almost a decade now. It casts great balls. I have cast nearly a 1000 by now. I think you will like it. I use it for bothh my .60 rifled and my 20 smoothbore.
