Hey guys, so I got home from work and rolled out this huge sheet of lead and power washed all the paper that was on one side, the other side is fine. All the paper came off but on some parts there's a really thin layer of tar, as thin as paint. I'll show pics. Anyway, after I cut it all up it weighed at about 105 lbs. I sold 65 lbs. to someone on here already. The rest is in this box, with about 20 lbs. of smashed lead pipe on top to bring it to 61 lbs. with the box.

This is all good, soft lead! $120 shipped USPS Priority to your door within the U.S. PayPal friends and family preferred for payment (Or Zelle, thanks Griz!). If bought tonight I'll ship it out tomorrow with the other. Thanks! -Justin

Justin,
Somewhere there is a Postal worker filing a work comp claim ‘cause of you!:)
That prompted me to look this up! Sometimes they aren't happy with me, others just laugh about it. I try to go to a variety of post offices so I'm not going in the same place all the time!

I wouldn’t use USPS flat rate boxes for heavy shipments like this because their boxes fall apart with heavy loads. If they deliver the label they consider the package delivered - no claim.

They generally do pretty well but I have not had good luck over packing their flat rate boxes. They know people are taking advantage of what was intended to be a fair deal to increase their package volume.

I'm not worried about these coming open. I've shipped at least 40 of these, if not more, without a single problem. The box very well may be weak, but I use SO MUCH tape they ain't breaking open. I use 1/3 of one of these rolls of packing tape on each box. Everyone that's received one said it worked great. And if there was ever a problem with one, I'd make it right with the buyer.

It's actually by far the best and cheapest way to ship 60-70 lbs. of weight, you just can't be dumb about it and lightly tape it.

The boxes show up just fine. I don't think patrons of the USPS are taking advantage of anything. USPS is a business who is offering a service for a predetermined fee. You pay the fee, they complete the service. This is how the free market works.

Thank you for saying that. I restrained myself a bit in my reply to that guy but it kinda upset me, implying that I'm doing something wrong by "taking advantage" of the postal service. I'm well within their guidelines, and of course I'm not going to trust a cardboard box alone to hold 65 lbs. of anything!

He may have meant well, but that doesn't mean he's not wrong...
He IS wrong. Nothing amiss shipping anything including lead up to the weight limit specified by the USPS.
My delivery person is female and lifts weights to be able to do her job without hurting herself. Of course, she gets a tip from me when I see her and a nice bonus at Christmas as a thank you.
Justin tapes the daylights out of these boxes. I had to sharpen my pocket knife to get into it. He could air drop these things and it would be fine.

It was a joke people lighten up already!!

When we owned our insurance business, we would buy paper by the ton. The UPS driver, that delivered the paper, was a good friend and often came to Bible study at our house. He made me wait on him, like a slave , during the meetings, because he "had a sore back from moving all of our paper". We all joked about it. It was his job to deliver it and our job to distribute it -- it's just the way things work...

There was a comment someone else made that we were referring to, not what you said. I know you were just playin around!
