Just for KICKS:) I went on a twist calculator and it looks like it would take a bullet of about 1.5 " long to stabilize in a 1-30 twist 62 cal , that's with a velocity around 1200 fps. Not sure what that bullet might weigh? I'm thinking the stock would have to resemble a cannon frame :) Yep...heck of a bear gun for sure.

A better choice in a .62 cal. round ball barrel , is 1 turn in 66 inches, or slower. Length of the .62 round barrel needs to have a minimum of 36 " , or for longer sight plane. Reason for greater sight plane is, the .62 is accurate at 100 + yds. using a 90 gr. charge of ffg black powder , providing the rifling twist is correct. I have an expanded experience with the .62 cal. rifle , because I hunted with one, and killed deer for years , using one.. .oldwood
