For sale is a unique replica, combining a boarding axe blade 9" long by 2-1/2" wide with a 75-cal matchlock serpentine-fired hand gonne. The functional barrel is 7" long, 6-1/2" to the touch hole, with an extra length socket to form the handle for the axe. For safety, there is a swiveling pan cover so one can affix their match or punk/tinder to the serpentine, where the cover is only opened once the arm is pointed down range at the target. Overall this piece meaures 21-1/2" long and is in excellent condition. With any such hand gonne like this (tube, 1/8" thick walls) wthout reinforcing rings, these are shot with typical handgun vs rifle-like (of same caliber) reduced charges, say of 1/2 the bore diameter.
