Has anyone used 777 FFG in Walkers or Dragoons? I did not want to hijack the earlier thread about Pyrodex. I have a can of 777 FFG I'd like to use in my horse pistols and I wondered if anyone else had done it and if there are any tips. I usually use Goex FFFg BP in these guns with success.

Thanks in advance

And pay heed to the warning about measuring the powder with a volumetric powder measure, never by actual weight.

Might be a close thing if it was used behind a conical. The inertia of the lead that made the conical a better fighting bullet also makes it a lot harder for the pressure to dislodge it from the cylinder. Might damage the piece. I think BP is OK because the volume gets limited by the length of the conical. With 777 you magically get to cram more BP in it: To my mind that's about the same as trying to figure out how much smokeless powder you can use if the balance of the space is filled with cornmeal.
The idea of 777 behind a conical gives me the willies. And now that I've had another half a cup of coffee I'm none too sure about round ball neither. Surely some of yall tried it out. Does it give a sharper report? What do the chronicalators say?

In a brass frame revolver 777 is a bad idea. Large doses of it in an open top may be sketchy too. Small doses in the pocket pistols I believe is fine. I find it less accurate in my pistols so I stick to Pyro P.
