House was built in 1819. The last floor joist I salvaged was heart pine. This one is Chestnut I believe. Smells like chestnut. A neat feature of this early wood, notice the raw board has straight cut lines not from a circular saw. It's possible it's from a water powered up and down sawmill but much more likely someone was down in a pit and someone was standing on to hand cutting boards. Christmas is coming right up now. How about a pretty bowl with a neat history? $75 plus shipping. I include a write-up of the site history.
